NYSE Arca Airline Index Forecast

The New York Stock Exchange Airline Index is a dollar weighted index which exists to measure the performance of major international airline companies.

American Airlines (Ticker: AAL), Delta (Ticker: DAL), and Southwest Airlines (Ticker: LUV) as well as ex-US airlines like Copa Holdings, Azul S.A., and Ryanair are included in the index, to name a few.

The chart below is a forecast for the index using an exogenous and weight data composite (pink line). The composite has done an excellent job at providing directionality of the airline index for many years.

The forecast points to bullishness in the index into and through November. This can also be interpreted as an overall short-term good sign for the US economy.
