The Nasdaq is Time Compressed – So What’s Ahead?

The Nasdaq Composite is currently trading within a range over an extended period of time. This market behavior is referred to as “time compression”.

Since the 1st week of December, the Nasdaq has essentially gone “nowhere” in terms of price travel. This has not occurred over such an extended period of time since February 2024.

When this occurs, it is a period of consolidation. During these times, institutions are often acquiring or disposing of shares of underlying securities in anticipation for a greater move to one side or the other. This move will likely begin as we turn into March.

Our subscribers were recently provided a roadmap for the Dow Jones Industrial Average going into April 2025. This roadmap can be mirrored against the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 to alert active market participants to potential significant moves in the market in the weeks and months ahead.
